About Juho Keränen

He is a performing artist, a lecturer in classical piano, teacher of improvisation and free accompaniment.
Improviser and composer. Accompanist, studiomusician and keyboardist in many bands with varying music styles.
Juho (born in 1984) is a very versatile musician living in Helsinki, Finland. Juho's greatest passion is with the classical music, but he has widely spread his musical affinity and skills between many different music genres.
Juho graduated in 2015 as a Master of Music from the Sibelius-Academy of The University of Arts with the finest of grades. He has had a privilege to study under Tuija Hakkila, Hamsa Al-Wadi Juris, Jaakko Untamala, Eeva Mäkinen (harpsichord), Carita Holmström (free accompaniment and improvisation), Teemu Ikonen, Pasi Lyytikäinen (composition) and many others.
Juho has been rewarded with the main prize and the special prize for the best theme composer performance in Sibelius-Academy Helmi Vesa piano competition, The First prize in Kuopio V Piano Competition and with honor prize as a finalist in national Leevi Madetoja Piano competition. Juho was also awarded with Martin Wegelius foundation's artist grand in 2012.
Keränen has performed as a soloist with Baltic Nordic Youth Orchestra, Kuopio Philharmonic Orchestra, Oulu Philharmonic Orchestra and Vantaa Youth Symphony Orchestra. Juho has been perfoming also as a concert pianist, accompanist, lied pianist, chamber musician, studio musician and has also performed with many different bands with several different instuments.
Juho is currently teaching as a lecturer in piano at Vantaa Music Institute. He has also been teaching piano several years at The Sibelius-Academy of University of Arts, East Helsinki Music Institute and many others.
